Portugal Tour - 2024

At the end of September, a group of members went on tour and exchanged the wet, cold weather of Harpenden for the dry, sunny weather of  the Algarve, Portugal.  It was tough!
The 10 day tour included 4 matches against local and other touring teams leaving much time to enjoy the local amenities and sunny weather.
The photos below show members with empty wine glasses after a couple of meals at  local restaurants in Vilamoura and Alvor respectively, both west of Faro. 

Over the last 20 years or so a group from the club have been going to the Algarve most years.  The 2024 tour was organised by Lyn Roberts and the company Bowling Abroad.  Many thanks to them both for such an enjoyable time and smooth operation especially all the transportation logistics.
The good news is that we intend to go in 2025.  If you would like to find out more information please talk with Lyn, Graham Andrew, or indeed any of the others on the tour.  Ideally the group would be between 16 and 24 bowlers to play 4 or 6 rinks, as well as accompanying non-bowlers.  We would like to have a few more bowlers join in 2025.  The photo below shows the tour playing members.

The current programme started 12 years ago to the Algarve. Recently we have stayed in 4*hotels in Vilamoura, playing bowls against a number of clubs.  The official break is from the 1st to 8th of October, with members adding on extra days either before the 1st or after the 8th depending on their diaries.
We are planning a get together to explain in more detail this tour in early November.
