Catering
As
we all pitch in with the catering, each year our catering manager has to
allocate members to the various matches for which we provide teas or a
meal. But as you might imagine, it is
not possible to allocate women to women or men to men only games, it is very
much pot luck. Although, you will find,
the more experienced members tend to have the more time-consuming weekend meals
to cope with.
The
following is the breakdown of the service required:
- Men and mixed games midweek
require tea served mid way through the match. All biscuits and milk are in
the kitchen and no purchases are needed.
- Ladies matches require the duty
members to purchase cake to add to the biscuits and it is served at the
end of the match an allowance of half the match fee is available for these
mid week home matches.
- At the weekend, meals are
served. Two courses (main and dessert) have to be provided from a total
budget of half the match fee.
During
the service
- Tables must be set
- A record of the food provided
must be written in the book and signed.
- Temperatures of heated or
cooked food must be recorded in the book as well as the fridge and freezer
temperatures. The food thermometer can be found next to the oven.
- There is a whiteboard in the
kitchen for members to write up anything that is short or needed in the
kitchen.
- Please empty the black bin at
the end of your duty, take home extra food and take home and wash any tea
towels used.
Other
info
- Reimbursement for any outlay is
from the captain of the day so remember to bring your receipts.
- If you cannot make the date
allocated it is your responsibility to find a swap within the club. Social
members have not been included but there are many opportunities in the
year to offer your help.
- It is a good idea if you
contact your co worker near to your dates.
Please do not work in the kitchen if anyone in the family has had
diarrhoea within 48 hours.
- Ideas for weekend meals are on
the kitchen notice board and the catering
manager is willing to buy from Costco if given notice.
- You may store goods in the
freezer before you date but please mark them clearly.
- Communication is the key to
success so please if anybody has any queries contact the catering manager.
