HARPENDEN MAKE PROGRESS IN COUNTY LEAGUE

Harpenden men, playing against Hatfield away in the County League, were always struggling for supremacy.  Simon Burgess's rink dropped six shots on one end early in the match and were never able to recoup.  However, Tony Redford's rink made a good start and gradually drew ahead, but Harpenden were always behind on aggregate.  Going into the last end Hatfield were one shot ahead overall and Burgess's rink were holding two shots, but with his last wood the skip unluckily knocked the jack to the opposition for one down.  The other rink were holding shot and skip Redford's last wood just crept in to give them two to tie the match at 37 - 37, both teams gaining 3 points.
